hmmmm. if you thought that this film was taking itself seriously (which i did) and you’re not a total sucker for love stories then you’ll dislike this film. if you thought it didn’t take itself seriously and was pushing the boundaries of love movies, musicals, intellectual property, etc. then you might enjoy this film. luhrmann shows that he obviously knows his craft very well and i give props to that, but in the first instance this film didn’t make me want to analyze it, laugh with it, or feel for it. thus…
