the beginning is completely different from the rest of the movie in terms of feel, style, etc. however, it is still a good movie. this is the kind of story that had i written it people would have said “good idea, too much of a tone shift, maybe cliche in parts.” i guess if you get some big shot to compare it to pulp fiction and get someone like ewan mcgregor in it then you’re set. such is life.
